Simply Red is a British soul and pop band formed in Manchester in 1984 by lead vocalist and songwriter Mick Hucknall, with three former members of The Durutti Column, Sylvan Richardson and Fritz McIntyre. The band signed to Elektra Records and released its debut album Picture Book in October 1985. By 1996 Hucknall was the only remaining original member, and after being dropped by EastWest in 2000 the band set up the website simplyred.com, which became its own label. Their biggest hits include It's Only Love and If You Don't Know Me By Now, both from 1989.
A New Flame is the third album by the British pop and soul group Simply Red, originally released in February 1989. This is a single stereo LP released in 2024 by Warner Music Group, with Stewart Levine as producer and Mick Hucknall credited with vocals. Tony Bowers, Chris Joyce and Tim Kellett are among the musicians, and the album includes the singles It's Only Love, If You Don't Know Me By Now, A New Flame and You've Got It.
