Martin Frank | Martin Frank - Egk Werner - Fi | CD
£8.00
Frank Martin (15 September 1890 to 21 November 1974) was a classical composer with Swiss and part-French lineage. He taught composition in Cologne and also worked as a keyboard player. His music has been described as tonal, absorbing the serialism of Schoenberg while combining a German element with French in a musical idiom of his own.
This is a single-disc compilation of Monologues from Jedermann, Excerpts from Der Sturm and La Tentation de Saint Antoine, issued by Brilliant Classics. Werner Egk and Frank Martin are credited as composers, and the Berliner Philharmoniker as orchestra. The recordings were made in Berlin in May 1963 and in Munich in November 1965.
