Genisson, Pierre | Mozart 1791 | CD

French clarinettist Pierre Génisson brings a lyrical sound and agile technique to chamber and orchestral repertoire. His performances treat the clarinet as both a singing voice and a flexible ensemble instrument, drawing attention to changes of colour, phrasing and dialogue with the musicians around him.

Mozart 1791 brings Pierre Génisson together with Concerto Köln and conductor Jakob Lehmann around music associated with Mozart's final year. Period instruments give the orchestral setting a distinctive colour, while the clarinet's lyrical phrasing connects the solo passages with the ensemble's detailed response.
