Vena Portae | Vena Portae | CD

Vena Portae is an Anglo-Swedish alt-folk band made up of singer songwriter Emily Barker, songwriter and performer Dom Coyote, and Swedish producer and multi-instrumentalist Ruben Engzell. Emily Barker is a BAFTA award-winning writer and performer who wrote the theme to the BBC TV crime drama Wallander, and Dom Coyote is an associate artist with Kneehigh Theatre. In the winter of 2012 the band recorded the album over the space of a month in a makeshift studio in the snowed-in Swedish town of Mölnbo, just outside Stockholm.

This is a one disc CD album by Vena Portae, released on 17 October 2014 by Humble Soul Records. Vocals are by Emily Barker, Dom Coyote and Ruben Engzell, with backing vocals by Christian Kjellvander. Additional contributions come from Gill Sandell on accordion, Jesper Jonsson on drums and Mats Gunnarsson on saxophone and bass clarinet. Ruben Engzell is credited as producer, and the recording was made at Hagaberg Studio and Studio Ljudriket in Sweden.
