Marillion | Thieving Magpie (La Gazza Ladr | 2CD
Marillion formed in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England in 1979 and has been recording consistently since 1982. Their output is generally regarded as falling into two distinct eras, one with original vocalist Fish and one with his replacement, Steve Hogarth, who joined after Fish's departure in 1989. The band's differing styles between the two vocalists have often been known to divide fans.
The Thieving Magpie (La Gazza Ladra) is a live two-CD album by Marillion, released by EMI in 2009 in a remastered edition. Disc one contains live versions of hits and other songs, while disc two has Misplaced Childhood performed live in its entirety. The concerts were recorded at venues including Edinburgh Playhouse, Sheffield City Hall, De Montfort Hall in Leicester, Mannheim and Hammersmith Odeon in London. The original release dates from 1988, and the live set draws on albums from Script for a Jester's Tear (1983) to Clutching at Straws (1987).
