Soulwax is a Belgian band from Ghent, centred around brothers David and Stephen Dewaele. They were first noticed after their album Much Against Everyone's Advice, and the brothers later hosted the Belgian television show Alter8 and created the Radio Soulwax channel. They also built their own studio and founded a label, both named Deewee, and their compilation As Heard On Radio Soulwax Pt. 2 was named the best popular music album of 2002.
Much Against Everyone's Advice is a one-disc CD album by Soulwax, released in 2000 on [PIAS] Recordings and issued in the UK as a reissue. Dave Sardy produced and mixed it, with pre-production help from Chris Goss and Frank Duchêne, and the songs were written by Stephen Dewaele and David Dewaele. The styles are alternative rock and indie rock.
