Shining | VIII Redefining Darkness | CD

Shining is a Swedish extreme metal band formed in 1996. Its music incorporates many doom metal elements, and its depressive undertones and mostly suicide-themed lyrics have led to it often being called suicidal black metal, although the band itself says it is not a black metal band.

VIII / Redefining Darkness is a reissued 1 CD album by Shining, released in April 2025 by The Sinister Initiative in Finland. The album was recorded at Sonic Train Studios in Varberg, Sweden, between January and March 2012, and is dedicated to the memory of Trond Bråthen. The release is categorised as black metal.
