Sol Invictus | Let Us Pray | 2CD

Sol Invictus was founded in 1987 by Tony Wakeford, who had previously played in the punk band Crisis and the post punk act Death In June. Ian Read and then Karl Blake of Lemon Kittens and Shock Headed Peters joined the project early on. The first three albums, Against The Modern World (1988), In The Jaws Of The Serpent (1989) and Lex Talionis (1990), mix acoustic and electronic sounds. In 1991 Ian Read left to form Fire + Ice, and Wakeford took the sound progressively towards dark folk.

This is a limited 2-CD reissue of a recording of an acoustic concert performed in London on 4 April 1992, released by Auerbach Tonträger on 9 January 2012. The set is limited to 700 copies, and its bonus tracks include a previously unreleased Tony Wakeford performance at CBGB's in New York City. Tony Wakeford sings and plays guitar, with Sarah Bradshaw on cello, Stéphane Ruiz on flute and David Mellor on piano.
