Status Quo | Pictures of Matchstick Men | 2CD

Status Quo are an English rock band whose early recordings drew on psychedelic pop before their sound developed towards guitar-led boogie rock. Their catalogue connects melodic singles with rhythmic ensemble playing, reflecting distinct stages in the band's long recording history.

This Pictures of Matchstick Men two-CD edition is a compilation of Status Quo recordings, named after their early psychedelic-pop single. The collection revisits material from the band's catalogue and should be distinguished from the similarly titled debut studio album, Picturesque Matchstickable Messages from the Status Quo.
