The Carpenters | Ultimate Collection | 2CD

Carpenters were the American sibling duo of Karen and Richard Carpenter, whose warm vocal sound, intricate harmonies and polished arrangements became a hallmark of 1970s soft rock and pop. Karen’s expressive contralto and Richard’s piano playing and production brought a distinctive character to their recordings.

The Ultimate Collection is a two-CD compilation spanning the duo’s major hits and later recordings. The programme moves from early favourites such as Ticket to Ride and (They Long to Be) Close to You through Yesterday Once More and Top of the World, and includes later songs such as Touch Me When We’re Dancing and Now.
