The Jam was a mod, punk and rock band formed in 1972 at Sheerwater Secondary School in Woking, England. From 1976 the band was a trio of Paul Weller on lead guitar and vocals, Rick Buckler on drums and percussion and Bruce Foxton on bass guitar and backing vocals. The band broke up after Paul Weller's announcement in September 1982, and their last gig was in Brighton on 11 December 1982.
This is a remastered reissue of Sound Affects, issued on CD by Polydor in 1997 as a single disc. The original album was released on 28 November 1980 and recorded at Town House Studios in London between June and October 1980. It was produced by The Jam and Vic Coppersmith-Heaven, and Paul Weller is credited as songwriter.
