Magic Band | 21st Century Mirror Men | CD

The Magic Band is a rotating assembly of musicians dedicated to interpreting, recording or performing the works of a songwriter, both in support of his performing persona and as a solo unit. The original Magic Band was formed by guitarist Alexis Snouffer in the mid-1960s and became the rhythm and blues group Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band. After Don Van Vliet's retirement in 1982, members of the group were reformed in 2003 and have since released albums and live DVDs.

21st Century Mirror Men is a live recording by The Magic Band, released in 2005 by Proper Records as one CD album and one DVD. The recordings were made on tour in 2003 and 2004, including performances at the Royal Festival Hall in London, the Liquid Room in Edinburgh, the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham and the All Tomorrow's Party Festival in Long Beach, California. The DVD was filmed at Camber Sands, England, in April 2003. John French is credited as producer, and Gary Lucas and Denny Walley are credited on guitar.
