The Obsessed | Incarnate (Ultimate Edition) | CD
The Obsessed were formed in the late 1970s in Maryland, USA, by teenage friends Scott Weinrich, known as Wino, and Mark Laue, with drummer Dave Flood and guitarist and vocalist Johnny Reese. After line-up changes, the trio of Weinrich, Laue and Flood released a debut 7-inch commonly known as Sodden Jackal. A tape recorded in 1985 later circulated in tape-trading circles and was offered a release by Hellhound Records, the German label of Saint Vitus.
Incarnate is a one-disc CD compilation by The Obsessed, released in 2020 on Blues Funeral Recordings. It is remastered and draws on the band's demos, B-sides, covers and alternate recordings, with tracks dated from 1983 to 1994. Some tracks were originally issued as 7-inch singles on Bongload Records and Invictus Records, and the liner notes are by Wino.
