The Ocean | Anthropocentric (2026 Reissue) | 2LP

The Ocean have been making music since 2001 from Berlin, Germany, which they describe as Ambient Soundtrack Doomrock. Their style combines hardcore punk and modern, technical metal with epic arrangements and classical instrumentation. Since the 2010 album Heliocentric, they have described themselves as a band rather than a large pool of contributing musicians.

Anthropocentric is a vinyl double album by The Ocean, released in 2019 on Pelagic Records in Germany. The record has two discs, and its lyrics, written by Robin Staps, were largely inspired by Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel The Brothers Karamazov, with many quotes and allusions to the book. Robin Staps also produced the album and arranged the strings.
