The Ocean | Fogdiver | LP

The Ocean have been making music since 2001 from Berlin, Germany, which they describe as Ambient Soundtrack Doomrock. Their style combines hardcore punk and modern, technical metal with epic arrangements and classical instrumentation. Since the 2010 album Heliocentric, they have described themselves as a band rather than a large pool of contributing musicians.

Fogdiver is a 2025 vinyl LP reissue on Pelagic Records of a 2003 album first released on Make My Day Records, issued in a limited edition of 150 copies. The album includes speech samples from the film Stalker by A. Tarkowskij. Credits include Robin Staps, credited with the music and words together with The Ocean, and Jonathan Heine on bass, Torge Ließmann on drums, Rebekka Mahnke on cello and Lena Bretschneider on violin. The styles are post rock and psychedelic rock.
