The Sisters Of Mercy | Transmission Impossible (3cd) | 3CD
The Sisters Of Mercy are a rock band formed in Leeds, UK, in 1980 by singer Andrew Eldritch and guitarist Gary Marx. Their dark subject matter, literary references, cavernous reverb and black record sleeves led the music press to describe them as a goth rock act, though the band has always rejected that description. The band released its debut album, First And Last And Always, in March 1985, after five years of independent releases that had built a large cult following.
Transmission Impossible, Legendary Radio Broadcasts is an unofficial three CD release on Eat To The Beat, issued in the UK in 2026, made up of live FM broadcast recordings. Disc one was recorded at Paard Van Troje in The Hague on 26 May 1984, and disc two includes the band's set at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London on 31 July 1993, when they supported Depeche Mode on their summer tour, along with one track from the NEC Arena in Birmingham on 27 June 1992. Disc three was recorded at The Blank Canvas in Leeds on 26 April 2003, as part of the Smoke and Mirrors Tour.
