Monklonious | Piano Solo | 1LP

Thelonious Monk was an American jazz pianist and composer, born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, in 1917 and died in Weehawken, New Jersey, in 1982. He is often regarded as one of the founders of bebop, and his compositions and improvisations are full of dissonant harmonies and angular melodic twists. His piano style combines a highly percussive attack with abrupt use of silence and dramatic pauses.

This 2017 vinyl LP reissue by Sony Music, released in Europe, presents Thelonious Monk's 1954 album Piano Solo, remastered for this edition. The album was recorded in Paris on June 4, 1954, originally for a radio broadcast, and this edition includes one bonus track.
