Trans-Siberian Orchestra is an American progressive rock band, often abbreviated as TSO. Their albums are usually centrally themed and have often focused on subjects such as Christmas, winter or grand human achievements. The band is especially known for its touring and live concerts, and it has sold over 10 million tickets worldwide as well as over 10 million albums.
Christmas Eve And Other Stories is a CD album released in 1996 on Lava, and the debut release from Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the Lava and Atlantic labels. It is a conceptual symphonic rock work, with music by Jon Oliva, Paul O'Neill and Robert Kinkel, and O'Neill credited as producer and lyricist. The recording combines an orchestra of 60 players and a full chorus with rock band instrumentation. It reworks Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24), which first appeared on Savatage's rock opera Dead Winter Dead.
