U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin, formed in 1976. After Steve Lillywhite produced their first three albums, they hired Daniel Lanois and Brian Eno to produce The Unforgettable Fire and The Joshua Tree, which put them onto charts all over the world. After the 80s ended they reinvented their sound with Achtung Baby, adding electronic elements to their rock music. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005 as performers.
Boy is a one disc remastered reissue of the debut studio album by U2, originally released in 1980 and issued in Europe by Mercury Music Group. The release details give 21 July 2008 as the release date. Steve Lillywhite produced the album, which was recorded at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin and includes the single 'I Will Follow'. Bono is credited with vocals, The Edge with guitar and Larry Mullen with drums.
