Uk Subs | Live Kicks | CD

UK Subs is a punk band that emerged from the scene at The Roxy in London in 1977. Founder and lead vocalist Charlie Harper had played in R&B and pub rock groups before being influenced by bands such as The Damned to turn to punk, and the group began in 1976 as The Subversives. Although they adopted punk stylings, their work remained heavily influenced by R&B and played fast, and several singles reached the lower reaches of the Top 30 in the late 1970s, including Stranglehold, Tomorrow's Girls and a cover of The Zombies' She's Not There.

This is a single stereo CD album reissue of Live Kicks by UK Subs, released on Audio Platter on 10 December 2021. It is the first UK Subs live album, recorded at the Roxy Club in 1977, and the CD adds a 4 track demo the band recorded in 1977 while seeking a record deal, included for the first time on CD as a bonus. Mike Berry is credited as producer.
