Underworld | Drift Series 1 Sampler... | CD
Underworld is a UK electronic music act formed in 1987 by Rick Smith and Karl Hyde after their former band Freur disbanded. Their first line-up released song-oriented, funky guitar-based pop over two albums. In 1991 the core duo returned with a track-oriented technoid direction and a new ally, DJ Darren Emerson. In 1996 their former B-side "Born Slippy NUXX" was used in Danny Boyle's film Trainspotting.
Drift Series 1 - Sampler Edition is a one-disc CD sampler by Underworld, released by Caroline Records in North America in 2019. It contains a selection of music from the DRIFT project, which Rick Smith and Karl Hyde began in November 2018 with the aim of publishing music episodically over 52 weeks. Rick Smith is credited as producer, and Karl Hyde, Rick Smith and Ø [Phase] are credited as performers.
