Underworld | Drift Series 1 Sampler Editio | 2LP

Underworld is a UK electronic music act formed in 1987 by Rick Smith and Karl Hyde after their former band Freur disbanded. Their first line-up released song-oriented, funky guitar-based pop over two albums. In 1991 the core duo returned with a track-oriented technoid direction and a new ally, DJ Darren Emerson. In 1996 their former B-side "Born Slippy NUXX" was used in Danny Boyle's film Trainspotting.

Drift Series 1 - Sampler Edition is a two-LP vinyl sampler by Underworld, released by Caroline International in 2019. It draws on the DRIFT project, which Rick Smith and Karl Hyde began in November 2018 with the aim of creating and publishing music and film episodically over 52 weeks. The sampler includes material from the five self-contained episodes released during the project, which together form DRIFT Series 1.
