Underworld is a UK electronic music act formed in 1987 by Rick Smith and Karl Hyde after their former band Freur disbanded. Their first line-up released song-oriented, funky guitar-based pop over two albums. In 1991 the core duo returned with a track-oriented technoid direction and a new ally, DJ Darren Emerson. In 1996 their former B-side "Born Slippy NUXX" was used in Danny Boyle's film Trainspotting.
Oblivion With Bells is a CD album by Underworld, released by Side One Recordings in October 2007. Rick Smith is credited as producer, Steven Hall as executive producer, and Karl Hyde and Rick Smith as writers. The release is associated with progressive house, IDM, tech house and ambient styles.
