WAR | Now Playing | 1LP

War is a Latin funk group that started in Southern California in the early 1970s, formed from the remains of the R&B covers group The Creators. Producer Jerry Goldstein discovered them and gave them the name War, and they signed to United Artists before peaking commercially in the mid-1970s with the number 1 hit Low Rider. Later line-up changes and the loss of key members left the group less successful, and it became largely a touring act. Hip-hop artists have heavily sampled their music, introducing it to a new generation.

Now Playing is a 2024 compilation by War, issued as one vinyl LP on Primary Wave. The record is pressed on transparent red vinyl and was released on 30 August 2024. It is categorised under funk and soul, with funk and disco styles.
