Montgomery Wes | Complete Full House Recordings | 1LP

Wes Montgomery was an American jazz guitarist, born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on 6 March 1923 and died there on 15 June 1968. He played with his thumb rather than a plectrum and was known for his trademark use of octaves in melody and improvisation. His brothers were the pianist and vibraphonist Buddy Montgomery and the bassist Monk Montgomery.

The Complete Full House Recordings is a 3 LP expanded reissue by Wes Montgomery, gathering all the recordings from the Full House sessions along with two previously unreleased performances. The set includes material recorded live at Tsubo in Berkeley, California, on 25 June 1962, with Johnny Griffin, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb. It was released in December 2023 on Craft Recordings to mark the centenary of Montgomery's birth, with new liner notes by Bill Milkowski and a compilation produced by Nick Phillips.
