Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a composer of classical music, born in Salzburg on 27 January 1756 and died in Vienna on 5 December 1791. He was the son of Leopold Mozart. His output of more than six hundred compositions covers symphonic, chamber, piano, operatic and choral music, and many of his works are part of the standard concert repertoire.

Mozart's Mass in C minor, K 427, known as the Great Mass, is paired with the Kyrie in D minor, K 341, on this single-disc CD from Naxos, released on 29 August 2000. Michael Halász conducts the Nicolaus Esterházy Sinfonia and the Magyar Rádió És Televízió Énekkara, with Kálmán Strausz as chorus master, and the soloists are Norine Burgess, Viktoria Loukianetz, Herbert Lippert and Robert Holzer. The recording was made from 25 to 28 June 1998 and produced by Ibolya Tóth.
