Yola is an English singer-songwriter whose music connects soul, country, rock and American roots traditions. Her expressive vocal range and melodic writing bring those styles together without confining the songs to a single genre, with ensemble arrangements supporting the changing musical settings.
Released in 2021, Stand for Myself is Yola's second studio album, produced by Dan Auerbach. It broadens the sound of Walk Through Fire through soul, disco and rock influences, with songs concerned with identity, independence and the experience of finding one's voice.
