Blake, James | Friends That Break Your Heart | CD

James Blake is an English singer-songwriter, producer and keyboard player whose music connects electronic production with soul-influenced vocals. Sparse textures, altered vocal layers and expressive piano playing allow his songs to move between intimate ballads and more rhythmically complex settings.

Released in 2021, Friends That Break Your Heart examines the loss and strain of friendships alongside romantic relationships. Its songs combine Blake's electronic detail with more direct melodic writing, placing the emotional subject matter within a mixture of solo performances and collaborations.
