Fela Kuti | Afrodisiac | 1LP

Fela Kuti was a Nigerian bandleader, saxophonist and activist whose music helped establish Afrobeat. His extended arrangements brought together jazz improvisation, funk rhythms and West African musical traditions, giving his outspoken vocals a powerful foundation of interlocking percussion, guitars and horns. Afrodisiac brings together four extended Africa 70 performances, including the gluttony satire Jeun Ko Ku and the free-speech statement Je’nwi Temi.
