£10.00
George Smith was a blues singer and harmonica player, born in Helena, Arkansas, on 22 April 1924 and died in Los Angeles on 2 October 1983. There is evidence that he was one of the first to amplify his harp. He moved to Rock Island, Illinois, in 1941 and to Chicago in 1951, where he played club dates with Otis Rush and Muddy Waters. He made his first recordings for RPM in 1955.
This is a single-disc remastered reissue of Blues With A Feeling (A Tribute To Little Walter), a 1969 album by George Smith with The Chicago Blues Band, issued by BGO Records and released on 19 March 2012. The album is a tribute to Little Walter, and the music is in the harmonica blues style.
