Grimaud Helene | For Clara | CD
£19.00
Hélène Grimaud is a French classical pianist, born on 7 November 1969 in Aix-en-Provence, France. At the age of 21 she settled in Tallahassee, Florida, and she now lives in Berlin and Switzerland. She co-founded the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, New York, with the photographer John Henry Fair.
This single-disc classical CD from Deutsche Grammophon, released in 2023, pairs Robert Schumann's Kreisleriana Op. 16 with songs by Johannes Brahms. In the Brahms songs, Grimaud is joined by baritone Konstantin Krimmel, and Brahms distilled his unrequited love for Schumann's widow Clara in the set. Stephan Flock produced the recording.
