Morgoth | Ungod | CD
Morgoth is a death metal act from Meschede, Germany, formed in 1985 as Cadaverous Smell before becoming Minas Morgul shortly afterward. The band took the name Morgoth in 1987, inspired by the members' fascination with J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. The band broke up in 1998 and reformed in 2010, and in 2014 vocalist Marc Grewe left, with Karsten "Jagger" Jäger of Disbelief taking the role. Morgoth released the album Ungod in March 2015, announced an indefinite hiatus in May 2018, and in December 2020 announced that it had permanently called it quits.
Ungod is a reissue CD album issued by Back On Black, with a release date of 13 March 2026. Morgoth is credited as one of the producers, alongside Jörn Michutta and Matthias Klinkmann. The lineup on the album is Karsten Jäger on vocals, Harald Busse on lead and rhythm guitar, Sebastian Swart on rhythm guitar, Sotirios Kelekidis on bass and Marc Reign on drums.
