Manic Street Preachers | Holy Bible | 1LP
Manic Street Preachers are a rock group formed in Blackwood, Wales, in the late 1980s. The line-up has included James Dean Bradfield on lead guitar and vocals, Nicky Wire on bass, Sean Moore on drums and Richey Edwards on rhythm guitar. Richey Edwards has been missing, presumed dead, since 1995, and the remaining members have continued as a trio. Though they have a heavy guitar sound, their work has also been the subject of many remixes by electronic artists.
The Holy Bible is a 2015 remastered reissue of the third studio album by the Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers, issued as a single LP on Columbia. It was produced by Steve Brown and Manic Street Preachers, and mixed by Mark Freegard. Music is credited to James Dean Bradfield and Sean Moore, and lyrics to Nicky Wire and Richey Edwards. The songs focus on politics and human suffering, and the album was written while Richey Edwards was struggling with severe depression, alcohol abuse, self-harm and anorexia nervosa, which many sources consider to be reflected in its contents.
