Giddens, Rhiannon | Theyre Calling Me Home (With | 1LP

Rhiannon Giddens is an American singer and multi-instrumentalist whose work explores the connections between folk traditions, historical repertoire and contemporary songwriting. Her expressive voice and knowledge of string instruments bring musical craft and cultural context together, making individual songs part of a wider conversation about heritage and experience.

They're Calling Me Home brings Rhiannon Giddens together with Francesco Turrisi around traditional songs and new material. Avalon sits alongside Waterbound, Black as Crow and the Italian lullaby Nenna Nenna, creating a programme in which voice, instrumental colour and the idea of home provide the central connections.
