The Bee Gees | The Forgotten Sessions 1697-1968 | CD
The Bee Gees were a singing trio of brothers who were born on the Isle of Man to English parents and began their musical careers in Brisbane, Australia, before finding worldwide success after returning to the UK. The group sang three-part harmonies and had two distinct periods of exceptional success, first as a harmonic soft rock act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and then as leading stars of the disco era in the late 1970s. They were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as performers in 1997, and all three brothers were given CBEs in the 2001-2002 New Year's Honours List.
The Forgotten Sessions 1967-1968 is a one-disc compilation of Bee Gees recordings from live radio and television broadcasts, released by Leftfield Media in November 2024. Tracks 1 to 24 were recorded for the BBC, mainly for Saturday Club, Top Gear and Top of the Pops in 1967 and 1968, and tracks 25 to 27 were recorded at Radiohuset Studios in Stockholm on 21 July 1967.
