The Dave Brubeck Quartet | Jazz Impressions of Japan | CD

The Dave Brubeck Quartet combined Brubeck's piano with Paul Desmond's saxophone and a responsive rhythm section. Their recordings often placed original compositions within programmes shaped by travel or musical themes.

Originally released in 1964, Jazz Impressions of Japan reflects experiences associated with the group's Japanese tour. Pieces including Tokyo Traffic and Osaka Blues translate those impressions into an instrumental jazz setting.
