Smiths | Louder Than Bombs (1987) | CD
The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The group consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. Critics have called them one of the most important bands to emerge from the British independent music scene of the 1980s. Johnny Marr left in July 1987 and the band broke up later that year.
Louder Than Bombs is a one-disc compilation album by The Smiths, released in 2024 by Warner Music Group for the worldwide market. It was the American counterpart to The World Won't Listen and collects singles and nearly all B-sides not previously available in the United States, with a few other tracks added. The recordings were made in England from April 1983 to November 1986, and John Porter produced tracks 1 and 4 for the BBC Radio 1 John Peel Show.
