Third Ear Band | Music From Macbeth: Remastered & Expanded Edition | CD
Third Ear Band is a British experimental rock and folk cross-culture band that grew out of the 1960s London underground scene. After a July 1969 concert at the Middle Earth Club, when much of their equipment was stolen and the guitarist left, the remaining members rebuilt the group as an all acoustic band using hand drums, violin, viola, oboe, recorder and cello. The band was championed by DJ John Peel and recorded for the Harvest label. Their most famous release is the soundtrack to Roman Polanski's Macbeth.
Music From Macbeth is a one disc CD compilation by Third Ear Band, released in 2019 on Esoteric Recordings, a Cherry Red Records label. The music is taken from the 1972 film Macbeth, and the tracks are credited to Denim Bridges, Glen Sweeney, Paul Buckmaster and Paul Minns, with Andrew King and Third Ear Band as producers. Mark Powell compiled the release and Luca Ferrari wrote the liner notes.
